Childbirth Series

Sue Simonson, ICCE, has been a childbirth educator for over 30 years, certifying for 15 years with the Bradley Method of Childbirth and then later, through International Childbirth Education Association.  In this capacity, she has taught with her husband for many years in their home, has taught with midwives, in hospital settings and in the school districts with pregnant teens.  She has also attended over 300 births as labor coach/doula.  With a broad background and experience, Sue is again offering private childbirth classes in her home.  As she has recently coached several births, she has become poignantly reminded of the great need for young mothers and fathers to get accurate, comprehensive and empowering knowledge about this process of pregnancy, labor, delivery and newborn parenting.  She feels strongly that families deserve “freedom of choice based on knowledge of alternatives and informed consent” (ICEA). 

Happiest Baby Class

As a certified “Happiest Baby” instructor of Dr. Harvey Karp’s remarkable baby calming methods, childbirth classes will have an added option of an extra night to learn these valuable  tools for calming a baby.

Sibling at Birth Class

Often it is a positive option for siblings to be included at a birth.  It is important that they receive adequate preparation so the experience can be a rewarding and bonding experience for all.  Having specialized in siblings at birth preparation and support, Sue is again offering private, one day classes for families with children 2-18 to prepare a sibling for birth.

Childbirth Classes are kept small – 3-7 couples- to allow individualized attention and maximum comfort in the intimate setting of a home.   To register, please fill out and submit the following form or call Sue at 916-497-2283 for more questions.
